Obverse description Facing head of the water nymph Hypereia, turned slightly to left, her hair bound with a wreath of reeds characteristic of freshwater deities. She wears an earring and necklace, rendered in fine archaic-influenced style. To the left of her effigy, a fish swims upward in the field, serving as a symbolic attribute referencing the sacred spring of Hypereia at Pherai.

Reverse description The goddess Ennodia, depicted facing and seated upon a horse advancing to right, dressed in a chiton with a wreath in her hair. She holds a transverse torch diagonally across her body, her principal cult attribute as a deity of crossroads and night journeys. Above and to the left of the main device, a lion-head water spout is shown facing left, a further allusion to the sacred waters of Pherai. The ethnic legend ΦΕΡΑΙΩΝ is distributed in the field.
