Obverse description Two nude wrestlers grappling at centre, each bending forward with arms interlocked in a clinch; the figures are rendered in high relief with musculature carefully delineated in the archaic-classical style. The scene is set within a plain circular field bordered by a beaded or dotted inner ring. The Greek letters ΑΜ appear in the lower field between the wrestlers' legs, serving as a mint or magistrate abbreviation.

The figure is rendered in confident classical relief within a dotted border. The Greek ethnic legend ΕΣΤϜΕΔΙΙΥΣ (retrograde or standard, reading as the city ethnic of Aspendos) is inscribed vertically along the left side of the field.
