Obverse description Two nude wrestlers grappling in the centre of the field, depicted in high relief with vigorous, naturalistic musculature; the figures face one another, each gripping the other's body in a dynamic contest. The scene is set on a ground line, with the Greek letters ΑΦ — the civic abbreviation for Aspendos — inscribed between the wrestlers' legs. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded border, characteristic of Pamphylian coinage of this period.
