| Obverse description | Head of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, with a prominent cheek guard and crest rendered in fine detail. The goddess's facial features are rendered in the classical Greek style, with a well-defined profile, almond-shaped eye, and slightly parted lips. Locks of hair curl beneath the helmet bowl and fall along the neck. The field is plain, with no legend or additional devices. The engraving reflects the accomplished die-cutting tradition of Magna Graecia workshops of the late 4th century BC. |

| Reverse description | Pegasus, the winged horse of Greek mythology, depicted in a dynamic flying gallop to the left, with forelegs raised and hindquarters extended. The broad, feathered wings are spread upward and rendered with finely engraved individual feathers arranged in parallel striations. The tail curls gracefully to the lower left. A small koppa symbol (Ϙ) appears in the lower right field below the horse, serving as a civic ethnic or control mark associated with the mint of Hipponion. The composition fills the flan with energetic movement characteristic of Corinthian-type staters struck in Magna Graecia. |
