| Obverse description | Facing right, the youthful head of the nymph Terina is rendered in fine high relief, her hair elaborately dressed and secured by a sphendone. Wavy locks are swept back from the temples and gathered at the nape in a characteristic late fifth-century Magna Graecian style. The finely modelled features display a serene, idealised expression with a delicate profile. The ethnic legend TEPINAION curves along the left field in Greek letters. |
