Obverse description Mounted warrior in Persian dress advancing left at full gallop, holding a flower or lotus blossom in the raised hand; a bow and quiver suspended from the far flank of the horse. A winged solar disc appears beneath the horse in the lower field, reflecting Achaemenid religious iconography. The composition is rendered in high relief with fine detail characteristic of Cilician satrapal coinage of the late fifth century BC.
