Obverse description Eagle standing in three-quarter view to right, rendered with fine naturalistic detail in the characteristic incuse style of Kroton. The bird is perched atop a rocky exergual base, its wings folded, with head turned slightly to face the viewer. To the left of the eagle, a caduceus is depicted upright in the field, serving as a secondary symbol. The entire design is set within a shallow incuse square, with the flan exhibiting the irregular, slightly scalloped edge typical of hand-struck coinage of Magna Graecia.
