Obverse description Pegasus depicted in left profile, shown bridled and standing with wings spread upward and folded back in graceful relief. The winged horse is rendered with finely incised mane detailing and naturalistic musculature typical of Corinthian die-cutting of the early fourth century BC. The forelegs are slightly raised in a prancing pose, conveying movement within the circular hammered flan. No legend is present, the field being plain around the central device.
