The figure is rendered in fine archaic-to-classical style with carefully engraved feather detail on the wing. Beneath the body of Pegasus appears the koppa (Ϙ), the archaic Greek letter serving as the mint mark of Corinth. The composition is set within a broad, slightly irregular flan typical of hammered Corinthian silver coinage of the early fourth century BC. |
