Obverse description Orestes kneeling left, depicted in heroic pose astride a tunny fish swimming to the left, the characteristic device of Kyzikene coinage. The figure grasps a sword in his lowered right hand while his left hand rests upon an omphalos. The composition is rendered in the fine archaic-to-classical Greek style, with careful attention to musculature and drapery detail. The tunny fish, emblem of Kyzikos, is depicted naturalistically beneath the figure. The field is plain, with no inscription, consistent with Kyzikene electrum stater convention.

Reverse description Quadripartite incuse square of standard Kyzikene type, divided into four recessed triangular sections by raised diagonal ridges meeting at the centre, creating a windmill or mill-sail pattern within the square punch. The incuse is deeply impressed and irregularly struck, as typical of archaic hammered coinage. The surface within the incuse compartments shows the characteristic granular texture of the electrum flan. No legend or additional device is present.
