Reverse description Head of an eagle facing left, rendered in fine archaic relief with carefully incised feathering and a hooked beak. A floral palmette ornament occupies the upper left corner of the design field. The entire composition is set within a square incuse punch with a dotted border, a technique typical of early fifth-century BC Greek coinage. The ethnic legend ΙΑΛΥΣΙΟΝ is inscribed within the incuse square, identifying the issuing community of Ialysos on Rhodes.
