| Obverse description | Pegasus, the winged horse of Corinthian coinage, depicted in full flight to the left with wings prominently spread and fore-legs extended in a dynamic galloping posture. The musculature and feathering of the wings are rendered with fine artistic detail characteristic of the Corinthian die-engraving tradition. The curling tail is visible to the right. In the lower field beneath the body appears the Corinthian mint-control symbol koppa (Ϙ), serving as a civic identifier of the issuing authority. |
