| Obverse description | Two nude male wrestlers facing one another in combat stance, each grasping the other's arms in a classical Greek athletic pose; the figures are rendered in high relief with careful anatomical detail characteristic of the Aspendian die-cutting tradition. Both athletes stand atop a ground line, their bodies slightly hunched forward in mid-grapple. The magistrate's control mark ΠO appears in the field between the wrestlers, below their joined hands. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
