| Beschrijving voorzijde | A nude male figure, possibly a hero or athlete, shown in vigorous action grappling with a bull or lion, rendered in high relief in the archaic Greek artistic tradition. The central group is dynamically composed, with the figure wrestling the animal to the ground in a scene of controlled power. A tunny fish, the civic badge of Kyzikos, appears in the lower field, serving as the characteristic mint symbol of this series. The flan is of irregular, slightly convex form typical of Kyzikene electrum staters, with no legend present. The engraving is bold and confident, consistent with the finest period of Kyzikene die-cutting. |
