Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing left, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, the bowl decorated with a crest and with locks of hair emerging beneath the rim. The facial features are rendered with fine archaic naturalism, the eye depicted in three-quarter profile. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, characteristic of early fourth-century Mysian gold coinage.
