| Reverse description | A double-lined square border encloses an elaborate stellate or geometric pattern composed of alternating pellets and elongated teardrop-shaped elements arranged symmetrically in a grid of diagonal and linear divisions, creating a striking granular incuse design. Above the square, in the upper field between the border of the square and the rim of the coin, appears the isolated Greek letter Rho (Ρ), serving as a magistrate's or ethnic abbreviation. The overall composition is characteristic of the early archaic incuse square reverse type employed at Dyrrachion, reflecting strong Corinthian colonial coinage traditions. |
