Reverse description A baetyl — a sacred cult stone of conical or pillar form — depicted centrally with a pronounced vertical central ridge, rendered within a shallow square incuse. Flanking the baetyl on either side are stylized birds, likely doves or eagles, symbols associated with the sanctuary of Kaunos. The incuse square frames the composition with plain recessed borders typical of early Karian civic coinage.
