| Obverse description | Pegasus, the winged horse emblematic of Corinth, depicted in full flight to the left with wings raised and all four legs extended in a galloping pose. The body is rendered with fine feather-like detailing on the wing coverts, and the musculature of the haunches and forelegs is crisply modelled in high relief. The Corinthian civic control mark koppa (Ϙ) appears in the lower field beneath the horse. The design fills the broad, slightly irregular flan in the characteristic Corinthian hammered style. |
