Obverse description Pegasos in full flight to the left, rendered with naturalistic musculature and finely detailed feathering on the outstretched wings; the forelegs are raised and the hindquarters are powerfully extended in a galloping pose. Below the figure of Pegasos, in the lower field, appears the AN monogram, serving as the civic identifier of the mint city of Anaktorion. The composition occupies nearly the full flan, characteristic of Akarnanian coinage of this period, with no border or legend encircling the design.
