Obverse description Pegasos in left profile, depicted as a bridled horse with large, outstretched wings, prancing with forelegs raised; a small koppa (Ϙ), the civic symbol of Corinth, appears beneath the body in the lower field. The figure is rendered in high relief with fine attention to musculature and feather detail, consistent with the accomplished die-cutting tradition of the Corinthian mint during the early fourth century BC.
