Obverse description A frog rendered in high relief, depicted in dorsal view — seen directly from above — occupying nearly the entire coin field. The creature is naturalistically modelled, with its characteristic broad, squat body, splayed hind legs, and forelimbs extended to either side. Fine ribbing articulates the dorsal surface of the body, lending a sense of texture and anatomical detail consistent with early Classical Greek engraving. The design fills an irregular oval flan typical of hammered island silver coinage of the early fifth century BC. No legend or inscription appears on this side.
