Obverse description Boeotian shield rendered in high relief at center, depicted frontally with characteristic curved cutouts at the sides forming the distinctive double-notched silhouette associated with Boeotian warriors. The shield's convex boss dominates the field, its form boldly modeled with a smooth raised center surrounded by a broad, slightly concave rim. The flan edges are irregular, typical of hammered Greek coinage of the Classical period.
