Obverse description Pegasos standing right with wings furled, the winged horse rendered in fine archaic-transitional style. Beneath the horse, the hero Bellerophon crouches right in a squatting posture, closely examining the raised foreleg or hoof of Pegasos. The figural group is contained within a broad, flat field typical of Ambrakian stater coinage, with no border or exergual line.
