| Obverse description | The winged horse Pegasos depicted in full flight to the left, rendered in fine archaic-to-classical relief with finely detailed feathered wings swept upward and forelegs extended in a dynamic galloping posture. The musculature of the body and the flowing mane are carefully modelled, reflecting the accomplished die-cutting tradition of Corinthian mint workers. Beneath the figure, in the lower field, appears the archaic Corinthian koppa (Ϙ), serving as the city's distinctive mint identifier. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, consistent with hand-hammered production of the period. |
