The bird's neck is upright and curved, with the head turned slightly, displaying a hooked beak characteristic of archaic Greek engraving. | Beschrijving keerzijde | A quadripartite incuse square divided into four recessed compartments by a raised cross, typical of early archaic Greek coinage technique. The two right-hand compartments appear to contain faint raised devices, while the left compartments remain deeply recessed and largely plain. The incuse punch is roughly rectangular and centered on the flan, with the characteristic uneven striking pressure of hand-hammered production. The surface shows natural porosity and toning consistent with a silver coin of this period and region. |
