| Obverse description | Pegasus in full flight, depicted in right-facing profile, with wings spread prominently and finely rendered feather detail. The winged horse is shown with forelegs extended in a prancing or flying posture, the musculature and mane executed with confident, high-relief engraving characteristic of the Corinthian tradition. The Greek letter alpha (Α) appears in the lower field beneath the body of Pegasus, serving as the civic identifier of Ambrakia. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, typical of hammered coinage of this period. |
