| Obverse description | Persian satrap depicted as a mounted equestrian figure, shown in right-facing profile astride a prancing horse rendered in dynamic motion with forelegs raised. The rider wears Persian court dress and is seated firmly upon the horse, the composition filling the irregular flan.
