| Obverse description | Heracles (?) standing to right in dynamic pose, raising his arm to strike a fallen Amazon (?) whom he grips by the helmet crest; the scene is rendered in vigorous archaic style typical of Cilician coinage of the fifth century BC. A single character tentatively identified as the Aramaic letter zayin (I) appears in the left field, possibly serving as a mint or magistrate mark. |
