| Obverse description | Pegasos, the winged horse, depicted in full gallop to the left, with wings raised and spread upward in fine detail. The horse's musculature and feathered wing plumage are rendered with confident archaic engraving. A small koppa (Ϙ), the Corinthian civic symbol, appears below the body of Pegasos in the lower field. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, characteristic of Corinthian stater coinage of this period. |
