Beschrijving voorzijde Prow of a warship (galley) advancing to the right, with the fighting platform rendered in fine detail and decorated with a facing gorgoneion apotropaic device. The oar-box and upper strake of the hull are clearly delineated in relief. A cicada is depicted upright to the right of the prow, serving as a civic symbol of Phaselis. The design is rendered in a bold, high-relief style characteristic of Lycian mint production of the 4th century BC.

Beschrijving keerzijde Stern of a warship (galley) to the left, rendered with the aphlaston (the characteristic curved stern ornament) prominently displayed above the hull structure. The ethnic inscription ΦAΣ (abbreviation for Phaselis) appears in the upper field in archaic Greek lettering. A dolphin leaps to the right in the lower field, symbolizing the maritime character of the city. The incuse square typical of early hammered coinage frames the composition. The design reflects the commercial and naval importance of Phaselis as a Lycian port city.
