| 裏面の説明 | The reverse depicts a stag standing to the right in a plain, granular incuse field, its head turned frontally to face the viewer in a characteristic Cilician artistic convention. The animal is rendered with naturalistic musculature, and a tree or branch motif appears to either side of the figure, possibly referencing a sacred grove or cult symbol associated with the deity Nergal. An Aramaic inscription appears in the upper field, reading the name or epithet of Nergal of Tarsos. The incuse treatment of the reverse is typical of eastern Mediterranean coinage of this transitional period, reflecting strong Near Eastern artistic influence on Cilician mint production. |
