Obverse description Pegasos in full flight to the left, rendered in vigorous relief with prominently spread wings and outstretched forelegs. The mythical winged horse is depicted with careful anatomical detail, the musculature of the body and haunches well articulated. The letter A (alpha), serving as the civic initial of Argos Amphilochikon, appears below the figure in the lower field.

Reverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing left in high relief, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the crown of the head, its cheekpieces raised to reveal the goddess's finely modelled facial features. The hair falls in short locks beneath the helmet brim. An octopus, rendered with characteristic tentacles splayed outward, appears as a subsidiary symbol behind the head in the right field, serving as a secondary ethnic or magistrate's badge.
