| Beschrijving keerzijde | Incuse square divided into four triangular quadrants by a swastika-like pattern with four bent arms rotating from a central boss, forming a pinwheel or triskeles-inspired geometric design. At the very centre sits a small raised circle quartered by a cross, serving as the fulcrum of the composition. The four recessed triangular sections between the arms create an alternating pattern of raised and sunken areas, a hallmark of early Boeotian stater reverses of this transitional archaic-to-early classical period. The design is entirely geometric with no figural elements or inscription. The incuse treatment reflects the contemporaneous die technique common to Boeotian mint production circa 480–460 BC. |
