| Reverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing left, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, rendered in fine Classical style with well-modelled facial features. Behind and around the head, the ethnic legend ΑΡΓΕΩΝ is inscribed in Greek characters, identifying the coin as an issue of the Argives of Amphilochia. An olive branch or similar vegetal motif is visible to the right of the head in the field, consistent with Athena's iconographic attributes on contemporaneous Greek silver coinage. |
