Obverse description Facing left, the idealized head of Hera is rendered in fine Classical Greek style, her hair elaborately dressed and bound by an ornamented stephanos decorated with scroll and floral motifs. The goddess's features are serene and finely modeled, with delicate relief typical of Elean coinage of the mid-4th century BC. The letters F (digamma) and A appear flanking the neck, serving as ethnic or magistrate initials. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, with the design occupying the full field.
