Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in fine high relief with characteristic archaic-to-classical transitional style. The deity's long, flowing beard is rendered with carefully incised wavy strands, and the thick, curling hair is bound by a laurel wreath whose leaves are clearly delineated. The facial features are powerful and idealized, with a strong brow, prominent nose, and slightly parted lips, conveying divine authority. The field is plain, with no legend or inscription. The flan is irregular in shape, typical of hand-struck silver coinage of the Elean mint.
