Obverse description The obverse features a large eight-spoked steering wheel forming the design framework, with a detailed relief of the ocean liner S.S. Shalom depicted in profile across the center of the field. Above the ship, a rectangular panel displays seven six-pointed stars representing the Zim shipping line emblem. The legend appearing within the lower spokes reads "S.S. SHALOM 1964" in Latin script to the left and the Hebrew name and Hebrew year תשכ"ד to the right, with the date 1964 inscribed at the bottom center.
