Obverse description The enamelled blue field features a stylized Star of David formed by radiating lines in white and shades of blue, symbolizing Jewish communities from across the world converging. Below the central motif, the word 'Hatikva' appears in cursive English script (in the hand of Theodor Herzl) and 'התקווה' in Hebrew script (in the hand of David Ben Gurion).
