| Obverse description | Two kneeling figures in high relief face one another in the field: a gaunt man to the left raises his hands to his skeletal face in despair, while a draped woman to the right wrings her hands in anguish. A human skull appears in the exergue below, and the engraver's name HÖRNLEIN is incised along the lower baseline. |
