Obverse description Unadorned right-facing bust of King Stanisław August Poniatowski, portrayed in a neoclassical style with his hair dressed in a queue tied with a ribbon and loose curls falling at the nape of the neck. The effigy is rendered with fine detail, the king depicted without crown or mantle in the manner of an antique portrait. The circular Latin legend surrounding the bust reads STANISLAUS AUG D G REX POL M D L, identifying him as King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania by the grace of God. The field is smooth and unadorned, allowing the portrait to dominate the flan.
