| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field occupied by the dynastic trident symbol (tamga) of Prince Vladimir I, rendered with a characteristic stylized base, upward-pointing central prong, and flanking curved tines terminating in decorative leaf-like finials. The trident is set against a plain field within a beaded border. A Cyrillic legend surrounds the device, partially legible on the irregular hammered flan, identifying the issuer. The design reflects the earliest formalization of the Rurikid dynastic emblem on coinage. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The srebrennik was minted under Vladimir Sviatoslavich following his conversion to Byzantine Christianity in 988 — a political alignment that brought not just a new religion but an entirely new visual grammar of rulership, borrowed directly from Byzantine coin types. Vladimir appears to have introduced coinage partly to assert sovereign legitimacy in a form recognizable to neighboring powers, rather than out of any pressing commercial need. Kyivan Rus had functioned on bullion and foreign coin for generations.
Type III is distinguished from earlier srebrennik issues by modifications to the trident tamga, Vladimir's dynastic symbol, which numismatists use as the primary classification criterion across the series.
