Reverse description The emperor stands frontally in full military attire, his gaze directed forward in the hieratic style characteristic of late Roman imperial coinage. In his raised right hand he holds a tall cross, symbolising Christian imperial authority, while his left hand supports a Victory figure poised on a globe. His right foot treads upon the head of a human-headed serpent whose coils extend across the lower field, a standard iconographic reference to the triumph of imperial power over evil or barbarian forces. The mint mark RM appears in the right field, with the exergual inscription COMOB confirming production at the Rome mint in high-purity gold.
