| Obverse description | Facing bust of Emperor Theodosius II, helmeted and nimbate, depicted in three-quarter view, draped and cuirassed. The emperor holds a spear with his right hand raised over his right shoulder, while his left shoulder bears a shield adorned with an equestrian motif depicting a mounted horseman trampling a fallen enemy. The portrait conveys imperial authority in the late antique frontal style characteristic of fifth-century Constantinopolitan coinage. The obverse legend encircles the bust, identifying the emperor with his full titulature. |

| Reverse description | Two enthroned emperors — Theodosius II and Valentinian III — seated facing on a wide double throne, both nimbate and attired in consular robes. Each holds a mappa in the right hand and a cruciform scepter in the left, emblems of consular and imperial authority. A star appears in the upper field between the two figures, symbolizing divine favour. The officina letter is positioned to the right of center in the exergue, followed by the mint mark CONOB, denoting gold of the Constantinople mint refined to the highest standard. |
