| Obverse description | Frontal bust of Emperor Theodosius II, helmeted and diademed, clad in elaborate imperial cuirass with heavily beaded ornamentation and paludamentum visible at the shoulders. The emperor faces three-quarters to the right, wearing a crested helmet adorned with a row of pearls and a plume. His right hand holds a spear directed over the shoulder, while his left arm bears a decorated shield. The surrounding legend reads D N THEODOSIVS P F AVG, arranged clockwise around the effigy. |
