| Obverse description | Helmeted, pearl-diademed, and cuirassed frontal bust of Theodosius II, facing the viewer directly in the late Roman imperial manner. The emperor wears a crested helmet adorned with a pearl diadem and is clad in elaborately detailed military cuirass with pteryges visible at the shoulder. His right hand holds a spear resting over the right shoulder, while the left arm bears a decorated shield. The surrounding field carries the Latin legend D N THEODO-SIVS P F AVG within a beaded border, characteristic of the Theodosian solidus series. |

| Reverse description | Standing frontal figure of the emperor in full military attire — helmeted, cuirassed, and wearing a paludamentum — occupying the full height of the field. His right hand holds a long staff or standard topped with a christogram (staurogram), while his left hand grasps a Victory-surmounted globus. A six-pointed star appears in the left field. The mint signature TESOB is inscribed in the exergue, denoting the second officina of the Thessalonica mint, and the surrounding Latin legend reads GLOR ORVI-S TERRAR within a beaded border. |
