| Beschrijving voorzijde | Crudely rendered draped bust of Charles the Bald facing left, depicted in the Carolingian imperial tradition with stylized diademed or laureate head. The effigy, characteristic of Frisian imitative workmanship, is rendered in low relief with simplified facial features. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust within a beaded border, the lettering partially garbled as typical of barbarian imitations struck by local moneyers unfamiliar with the original prototype. |
