Obverse description Helmeted, pearl-diademed, and cuirassed facing bust of Emperor Honorius, rendered in the frontal imperial portrait style characteristic of late Roman gold coinage. The emperor holds a spear in his right hand, raised behind his head, while his left arm bears a round shield decorated with a horseman motif. The legend surrounds the bust in the field, executed in Latin capitals. The engraving reflects the formal, hieratic aesthetic of Theodosian-era solidus production at Constantinople.

Reverse description The personification of Constantinopolis is depicted enthroned and facing, with head turned to the right, rendered in the majestic allegorical style typical of late antique imperial reverses. She holds a sceptre in her right hand and a Victory standing on a globe in her left; her left foot rests upon the prow of a ship, symbolising naval dominion. A star appears in the left field. The mint mark CONOB occupies the exergue, denoting full-weight gold struck at Constantinople. The reverse legend CONCORDIA AVGGG encircling the composition refers to the harmony of the three Augusti reigning concurrently.
