| Reverse description | The personification of Constantinopolis is depicted enthroned and facing, with head turned to the right, rendered in the majestic allegorical style typical of late antique imperial reverses. She holds a sceptre in her right hand and a Victory standing on a globe in her left; her left foot rests upon the prow of a ship, symbolising naval dominion. A star appears in the left field. The mint mark CONOB occupies the exergue, denoting full-weight gold struck at Constantinople. The reverse legend CONCORDIA AVGGG encircling the composition refers to the harmony of the three Augusti reigning concurrently. |
