Reverse description A cross potent set upon three steps occupies the centre of the field, serving as the principal reverse type. The exergual inscription CONOB (or CONOBΛ on later variants) denotes the Constantinople mint and the standard gold fineness. A PTh monogram appears in the left field, while the right field carries a variable officina or date mark: on BCV#762 an I, on BCV#764 and BCV#766 an A, on BCV#767 and BCV#768 an I over B, on BCV#770 an epsilon, and on BCV#771 a K.
