Obverse description Frontal facing bust of the emperor Justinian II, crowned with a jewelled stemma adorned with pendilia, draped in imperial loros with beaded ornaments, and bearing a short beard. The effigy holds a patriarchal cross in the right hand, rendered in the debased Byzantine provincial style characteristic of Lombard Beneventan coinage. A circumscribed Latin legend surrounds the bust within the coin's field.
